Crochet Tutorial Soccer Ball

If you love soccer, especially Brazilian soccer, this video crochet tutorial Soccer Ball for you.  

You will need:

Hook 3.5 mm
Green and yellow yarn
Polyfill
Needle
Small pieces of blue and green felt

sc – single crochet, dc – double crochet, ch- chain stitch, sl st – sleep stitch

Pattern for Pentagon (Make 12 green motifs)

1. Crochet magic ring, ch+sc+2 ch (counts as first dc), dc, ch, 2 dc, ch, 2 dc, ch, 2 dc, ch, 2 dc, ch (in total 10 dc and 5 ch) Join with sl st to the first dc.
2. ch+sc+2 ch (counts as first dc), 3 dc, ch, 4 dc, ch, 4 dc, ch, 4 dc, ch, 4 dc, ch (in total 20 dc and 5 ch) Join with sl st to the first dc.

Pattern for Hexagon (Make 20 yellow motifs)

1. Crochet magic ring, ch+sc+2 ch (counts as first dc), dc, ch, 2 dc, ch, 2 dc, ch, 2 dc, ch, 2 dc, ch, 2 dc, ch (in total 12 dc and 6 ch) Join with sl st to the first dc.
2. ch+sc+2 ch (counts as first dc), 3 dc, ch, 4 dc, ch, 4 dc, ch, 4 dc, ch, 4 dc, ch, 4 dc, ch (in total 24 dc and 6 ch) Join with sl st to the first dc.

If you see the picture above, you will see that the rule for attaching parts of a soccer ball are simple. Each Pentagon has 5 hexagons attached to it; and each Hexagon has 3 Hexagons attached on alternate sides and 3 pentagons attached on the remaining 3 sides. Sew motifs together and stuff generously with poly-fil before closing! Make the Brazilian flag out of felt and glue or sew it to the any green pentagon.
