How to crochet a cactus.
Supplies:
Green thin acrylic yarn
Crochet hook 1,0 mm
Polyester stuffing
GooglyEyes
Hot glue gun
Cactus body
Start with 8Â single crochets in the round.
For the next round, crochet two single crochets into each of the previous round’s stitches. You should now have 16 stitches in your round.
Then make 1 single crochet in the first stitch, 2 single crochets in the next stitch, 1 single crochet in the next stitch. Continue around the circle making 2 single crochets, then 1 single crochet, ending with 2 single crochets for a total of 24 stitches.
Crochet one single crochet into each stitch. Stuff bits of polyfil into the cactus as you go to create a solid body. Repeat this step until your cactus is about 4″ tall.
Finish stuffing the cactus, and tie off your cactus bottom.
Cactus arm
Start with 6 single crochets in the round. For the next round, crochet two single crochets into each of the previous round’s stitches (12 stitches). Then crochet one single crochet into each stitch until cactus arm is about 1″ tall. Stuff firmly and sew to the cactus body.
Cactus nose
Start with 4 single crochets in the round. For the next round, crochet two single crochets into each of the previous round’s stitches (8 stitches). Then round crochet one single crochet into each stitch. Sew nose to the cactus body.
Glue googly eyes.
To finish, place cactus in a small flower pot (or crochet it) and stuff around the base with scraps of black fabric.
