Concrete is an incredibly versatile material that can be used in a variety of projects, both large and small.
This project is fairly small, but it’s also pretty simple and can add a touch of trendy style to your home decor. Here’s how you can make your own concrete painted candle holders.
Supplies:
Cement mix
Water
Small container
Oil
Candle
Acrylic paint
Mod Podge
Napkin for decoupage
Sandpaper
Mix water and cement and pour into the small container.
Take a greased oil candle and press it in the center of the mixture. Do not press it all the way down, but most of the sides of the holder should be covered.
Vibrate the mold slowly. Vibrating removes the bubbles from the mixture and makes the candle holder stronger and less likely to break. Allow the cement to fully dry.
After removal of the plastic and the inner container there are some uneven place exist on the surface.
Take the fine sand paper and gently rub away on the surface and sides.
Now the candle holder is ready for paint.
Glue the napkin, apply to Mod Podge and use.
